Neither format is better for everyone. The better format is the one you will attend every week and finish. Both prepare you for the same exam; what differs is how you learn best and what your Saturdays look like.
The short answer
Choose in person if you learn best around a table, need a fixed place to be, and live within a reasonable drive. Choose live online if the commute would cost you energy or the course, or you live too far away. If the online class is live, with an instructor you can question in real time, the teaching is the same.
What is the same in both
At Education Edge, both formats are the same course: seven Saturdays, 9 AM to 5 PM Eastern Time, 60 contact hours, the same instructors and the same 2,000+ practice questions. Both count toward the 35 hours PMI requires, because we are a PMI Authorized Training Partner (ATP #4456).
When the classroom wins
A room makes it harder to drift. You work scenario questions out loud with the people beside you, you hear how others reason, and the instructor can see when the room has lost the thread. For people whose week is full of screens, a Saturday away from one can be the reason they keep going for seven weeks. Our classroom is in Mississauga; see PMP training in Mississauga.

When live online wins
Online removes the commute, which over seven Saturdays adds up. It opens the course to anyone in Canada or the US, and you study at the desk where you will later do your practice exams. The key is to treat it like a classroom: camera on, phone away, questions asked out loud. See PMP training in Canada for class times in every province.

Live online is not the same as recorded
A recorded course cannot answer your question. Live online means an instructor teaching in real time, taking questions as they come. From 1 December 2026, PMI also counts live classes toward the 35 hours only from an Authorized Training Partner or two other approved routes, so check who is delivering before you pay. Our guide to choosing a provider covers the checks.
How to decide
Ask three questions. Will I actually turn up every Saturday for seven weeks in this format? Can I focus for a full day here? And what does the commute cost me? If you are still unsure, talk to us and we will tell you honestly which suits your situation.
Frequently asked questions
- 01
Is online PMP training as effective as classroom training?
When it is live and you take part, yes: you get the same instructor, the same material and real-time answers. What matters more is that you attend every session and practise between them.
- 02
Do online PMP classes count for the 35 contact hours?
Yes, if the provider qualifies. From 1 December 2026 PMI counts live classes only from an Authorized Training Partner, a China REP or an eligible higher-education program. Education Edge is ATP #4456.
- 03
Can I switch between in person and online?
At Education Edge both formats run the same course on the same Saturdays. Ask us before you enrol.
Education Edge is a PMI Authorized Training Partner (ATP #4456). Every course is live and instructor-led, and selected courses carry a 100% pass guarantee or your money back.
